2019 Was Crest’s Year to Shine

Crest Coating continues to add to certifications and recognitions.

Crest Coating had a great year in 2019. Our longstanding commitment to quality products and exceptional service was validated in a number of ways, from new ISO Certification and “Top Shop” recognition to continued participation in the quality coater programs of both Chemours and Whitford.

ISO 9001:2015 Certification

Crest Coating became ISO-certified in 2019 after many years of maintaining ISO-compliant practices in our coating services. The ISO 9001:2015 Certification recognizes a company’s consistently high level in both the quality of its products and the quality of its internal processes.

The ISO 9001:2015 Standard is an all-encompassing standard for a business’s Quality Management Systems that includes performance in areas such as everyday procedures, process flows, inventory management, quoting policies, employee training, and product traceability. ‘Top Shop’ in the U.S. for 2019

Crest Coating has been named one of the best finishing shops in the U.S. for 2019, according to an industry benchmarking survey conducted by Products Finishing magazine, a trade publication which has covered the industry since 1936.

The magazine conducted an extensive benchmarking survey that analyzed eligible coating services companies in four different areas. These areas were Current Finishing Technology, Finishing Practices and Performances, Business Strategies and Performances, and Training and Human Resources. Only the top 50 shops were given the honor of being a Products Finishing magazine “Top Shop” based on a scoring matrix of those four criteria. Read more here.

Chemours LIA: Licensed Industrial Applicator

Crest has been a Chemours Licensed Industrial Applicator (LIA) for more than 40 years. This is a source of pride for us, and a source of confidence for our customers. The LIA program requires a coater to have extensive experience in applying Chemours Teflon™ coatings, as well as skilled staff and modern equipment. Chemours instituted the program to stress the importance of Teflon™ application procedures and expertise to engineer the appropriate application system so that every coating will perform optimally. 

Whitford QAC: Quality Approved Coater (Industrial)

Whitford established the QAC program to address fastener-specific products. It is designed to support the efforts of operators, engineers, end users, OEMs and coaters, by assuring that high standards of quality are consistently achieved in the application of Xylan® coatings.

Whitford recognizes the importance of a properly engineered and applied coating system. The “Quality Approved Coater” program ensures industry competent sources to apply their products. Crest Coating is a charter member in this distinguished network of experts in Xylan® coating services.
